O Blogcamp mostra, diariamente, sua importância em reunir blogueiros e pessoas do mesmo interesse.

Apesar do evento ter acontecido há uma semana, nós, do De Repente, conseguimos levar algumas discussões para a blogosfera.

E o ponto principal é o Ohmynews, principal site de jornalismo colaborativo no Mundo e sua possível “decadência”.

Ouvimos Lúcia Malla e seu relato, já que viveu na Coréia do Sul (sede desta nova mídia) por três anos.

Agora, é a vez de Semi Shin.

O contato deve-se graças a Roberta Zouain, da Samsung, que também se interessa pelo tema colaborativo e fez um belo trabalho acadêmico na Universidade de São Paulo.

Semi Shin garante que Ohmynews ainda segue como uma potência dentre os meios de comunicação na Coréia do Sul, mas ver perdendo terreno nos últimos anos.

Ele ressalta o número de jornalistas (apenas quatro em período integral) e afirma que Ohmynews é uma mídia representativa e valorizada.

Segue sua resposta (em inglês):

“OhmyNews is still 1st most read site(16.76%, as of today) among 72 internet newspaper service site.

The major reason Ohmynews had great success for several years was they induced positive user participation

such as selection(continuous investment like expense support as well) of citizen journalist,

first introduction of writing system just below the news etc.

But, currently they have 150K visitors per day, almost 25% decrease than last year.

( I am not sure any other statistics..)

Media specialist is saying their declining reason is “maybe”…

- Ohmynews has only 4 full-time jornalist in 2002. They hire over 30 full-time jornalists after

raise of brand awareness and recognition as an media representative in 2003.

From that time, they are not that much care about UCC than before.

So now they changed job positioning of full-time jornalist and more focus on VOC/UCC like before.

We will see if they got back or not.

- We have big portal monopolizing media demand.

We call ‘media ecological damage begin’ from big portal.

It could be one of the reason. Who knows?

This is all I know.
